The Quickie

Okay, maybe not so quick. As I have been workin' my ever lovin' butt off for the last month, I've not had much time for thoughts on a single post, so here for you now is my first Quickie, a post that sums up several thoughts on several subjects in a single post.

Entertainment:

Megaplexes suck. Too much trash on multiple screens, too little (or none at all) quality films.

Movies Seen:

Capote: See it. Phillip Seymore Hoffman is brilliant. You don't see him, you see Capote.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: See it, but I was a little disappointed that they had to leave out SO much of the book for times sake. Visually stunning.

Shop Girl: Rent it. The highlight was Jason Schwartzman's performance. Steve Martin playing the straight man just doesn't do it for me as much. Plus, he's really showing his age, so the intimate scenes with Claire Daines...shudder.

Movies Rented:

The House of Flying Daggers. Again visually stunning. SUCH a beautiful movie. If it weren't for having to read the subtitles it would be perfect. Not saying it should be dubbed at all, just wishing I spoke Chinese.

Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. Very good. I wish I had seen it on the big screen.

Movies To See:

Rent. Memoirs of a Geisha. The Producers. King Kong. Walk The Line. And that's the short list.

Television:

Sweet Jeezus, how I love 'Lost'!

Politics:

The Apparent Implosion of the Republican Machine:

Hee. Git 'em boys!

The Weather:

Saw our first snow today. Just flurries, but still pretty.

Life In General:

Good. Anxiously awaiting the territory Christmas Party during which I find out if my photos have won any awards. Not holding my breath, exactly, but I think I have a damn good chance. And VERY much looking forward to the San Diego trip in January.

OH! And the new gallery for the Edwardsville studio is up, and all but one of the pics is MINE! Hee. Have a look.

Take care all.

OK. So if I were to guess which shot on the Prestige page is *not* yours, I would say it's the African-American girl at the bottom with the popcorn & magazines. Am I right?

Nope. It's the black and white of the girl in the hat sitting on the white floor. That was taken by Laura, a photographer with SO much natural talent it is scary. She's 21 years old and has a very bright future ahead of her. Unfortunately, we may be losing her talents this year.
